In recent years, sightings of mysterious beings known as "hologram ghosts" have been a popular topic on social media. According to rumors, several people have fallen victim to these ghosts, and those who have been lucky enough to survive encounters with them claim that they resemble glitchy holograms. Hiro Amanokawa, a junior high school student at Hazakura Academy, believes that these sightings are merely an urban legend. However, as the number of incidents increases, he recalls the day his father suddenly disappeared, leaving behind only strange digital watches as a memento. The incident that happened to Hiro's father, like other sightings, cannot be explained by conventional logic. One day, when a hologram ghost attacks a student at the academy, Hiro and his friend, Koutarou Nomura, decide to investigate the matter. Hiro is unaware that this investigation will be the first step towards discovering a previously unknown and perilous world.
